Here you can see the ignition coils I removed and cleaned, as well as one of the buckets of water for cleaning use. Note: I did not dip the coils in the water. LOL

More parts. Ignore the phone. LOL I didn't necessarily have to remove all the windshield trim, but it needed painting since it was peeling pretty bad.

In this picture you can see the windshield trim has been removed, as well as the battery and balance tube.

Here the intake hoses have been removed as well as the throttle cables and the 8 bolts holding the plenum down.

Meanwhile, I was in the yard painting parts that I thought would look cool painted. This included the windshield trim, wipers, balance tube, and assorted screws & bolts.

Behind the big vacuum line you can see a gap between the EGR and the plenum where I had removed the bolts. PITA!!! Almost no room to move a wrench there. Also, right above that big vacuum line you can see the bracket with the bolts removed that holds the plenum down on the side. This is the driver's side.

This is the passanger's side EGR. It's a little easier to see there how the pipe goes up into the plenum and where the bolts go. Passanger's side is a little easier to deal with. Once those were disconnected, the plenum could be moved up and down maybe an inch, but it was still being held down by many water and vacuum lines. When I do a full writeup I will document each of these in detail.

Here you can see the engine with the plenum removed. It's pretty dirty. The magazines are covering the intake runners. If you look down those with a flashlight you can see the intake valves. COOL! Hehehe

This is Mr. Z's heart with the *most* parts off. Aren't his cams pretty? Heh The top valve covers were in the yard being painted at this point. I wanted to remove the bottom valve covers (smooth metal thingies located on the outside of the little 'valley' formed by the place where the spark plugs go)but some of the bolts holding those on were *extremely* difficult to get to and I decided not to chance it.

Same picture as above but after 90 minutes of scrubbing with a toothbrush and gasoline. Hopefully this looks significantly better than the above picture. 8)

Here is the engine with the top valve covers and spark plug guides painted and reinstalled. 8-) I think it looks cool. Woulda looked even better with the lower valve covers done too, but you can't have everything, eh? I know they look dirty again there, but it's just the lighting.

NOW.. I feel like a moron for not checking this on Thursday when I started, but after testing my injectors, I found that #s 3 & 4 are at like, 80 ohms, so they're about dead, I think. Alas. Gonna have to call Kyle first thing in the morning to order me 2 more of 'em. Not much left to do tomorrow then; guess I'll clean the plenum itself some more and put in my SS fuel lines; that's about it. If I get my injectors on Tuesday then I can throw them in and try to put the plenum back on. Gonna be interesting trying to figure out what hoses go where. LOL

Hope y'all enjoyed my post! Haven't done a long post in a while. Wed. or Thurs. I'll throw up an even longer one including all this and the re-mounting pix & commentary as well.
